Conservancy Cycling Adventure
Use your pedal power to help conservation!
On Sunday, October 3rd the Couchiching Conservancy will be hosting its second Cycling Adventure to help promote our land trust properties in north Simcoe.
Event starts at Washago Centennial Park (on Quetton St. in Washago) at 9:00am.
From there, cyclists will have a choice of two courses; a family-friendly course about 14km in distance and the other a longer trip of approximately 38km for those looking for a challenge. The shorter course will take in two sections of the Alexander Hope Smith Nature Reserve while the longer one will also include a visit to the Ferry Fawcett Nature Reserve.
But it won't just be a joy ride!
Upon arrival at the Conservancy land trust properties, participants will engage in a quiz or a task to obtain a stamp on a "passport" to prove they have completed the journey. Prizes will be awarded upon completion of the adventure.
The Conservancy believes it is important to connect people with nature. As part of our ongoing efforts, The Cycling Adventure has been created to increase public awareness of the Conservancy's land trust projects. Travelling by bicycle is an excellent way to promote a green ethic and encourage outdoor, physical activity. And our event is not a race, so participants can take in the beautiful scenery of the Washago area.
